STOCKLINE MEMORIAL GARDEN –  On May 11 2004 an explosion in the nearby plastics factory killed nine people and injured 33 others.

A later public inquiry held in Central Halls found that the incident had been the result of inadequate health and safety checks and that the tragedy had been “totally avoidable”. The nine dead are commemorated by the small garden.
