Botanics Protest Maintained

Despite press reports that G1 Group proposals for a disco in the Botanic Gardens are 'dead in the water' the Save-Our-Botanics public protest rally will go ahead as planned at 2.00pm on Sunday 30th March. Woodside residents are invited to participate in the event where up to 1,000 objectors are expected to plant flags across the Botanics in protest.

Organisers are concerned that even if G1 Group drops the nightclub plan they will still attempt to obtain permission for a public house in the gardens. Save-Our-Botanics believes that Glasgow's public parks belong to its citizens and should not be sold or leased for commercial gain. Your Community Council fully supports this viewpoint.
