Spiers Lock Masterplan
Woodside residents and business are now invited to comment on different ideas for the development of the Spiers Wharf area of our neighbourhood. Glasgow Canal Partnership has organised a drop-in session at 5.00 pm on 25th March in the Scottish Opera building at 40 Edington Street. The proposals on view will be midway in the Spiers Lock Masterplan design process and visitors can view progress and offer opinion on a range of possible projects.
Of current interest to the designers are local views on better pedestrian access from the city centre to the canal through Woodside, in particular the underpass and footpath connecting New City Road to Braid Square below the M8 motorway. If you use this route regularly your opinion is sought on whether to improve the underpass like Cowcaddens, or fill it in and form a new street level crossing, or even a build new footbridge.
Those who cannot manage to the drop-in session can make their views known by contacting Kellie Mein at 0141 287 9941 or by e-mail to kellie.mein@drs.glasgow.gov.uk
