A new drop-in centre for hearing impaired residents of Woodside has been established in Community Central Hall on Maryhill Road. The centre is operated by Action on Hearing Loss Scotland, which is the new name for the Royal National Institute for the Deaf. It is a registered charity which is supported by Glasgow Integrated Sensory Services. Their purpose is to assist people who use national health service hearing aids. They do not advertise or sell commercial hearing aids.
Specialist staff will be on hand from 1pm – 3pm in Community Central Hall, 304 Maryhill Road on one Tuesday of each month as shown below. They also have an excellent website at www.actionhearingloss.org.uk. All Woodside residents and workers who use a hearing aid, or who are hard of hearing or suffer from tinnitus are welcome to drop in for a free consultation.
