ASBO public meeting

The public meeting of 18th April organised by your Community Council to address the problem of anti-social behaviour in and around Braid Square was filled to overflowing in Woodside lesser hall.

Many people from all over our neighbourhood are clearly anxious to control this problem, and they were promised action by all of the politicians, police and housing officials who spoke.

Superintendent Main of Saracen Police Office has allocated increased resources to our area and three cameras are to be installed to monitor activity.

The housing managers from Queen’s Cross and GHA both promised zero tolerance of anti social tenants and speedy removal of graffiti and other vandalism.

There was a lively debate throughout the evening led by Councillor Hanzala Malik and MSP Patricia Ferguson, and your Community Council is considering a follow-up meeting for later this year.
