As a result of the cold, wet and windy weather last Thursday 3rd December our Christmas Lights switch-on festival took place in Woodside Library instead of outside at St Georges Cross.
The lights were swiched on by Kingsley the Partick Thistle mascot, who then greeted local children in the library. Santa Claus was there at the invitation of Queens Cross Housing Association, and the Salvation Army Band and our own Eiger Music entertained parents and children alike.
Hospitality including mince pies, tea, coffee and mulled wine were provided courtesy of Wintersgills Bar and the Glasgow Life staff of our famous Andrew Carnegie funded Library. Woodside Community Council thanks everyone involved, and wishes all local residents and businesses a Merry Christmas this December and a Happy New Year for 2016.
